Apex brings together all core Retouch4me tools for skin, eyes, smile, hair, clothing, and background retouching in one desktop application.
Image processing is performed in the cloud, delivering fast results with layer support for flexible file editing.
Works as a standalone application and as a plugin for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Affinity Photo.
Includes: Heal, Dodge & Burn, Portrait Volumes, Mattifier, Skin Tone, Skin Mask, Eyes Bundle, White Teeth, Fabric, Clean Backdrop, Stray Hairs, Glasses Glare Removal and Face Make Lifting.
Supports individual face selection, processing all faces, gender-based retouching, and intelligent lifting (chin correction, hair volume enhancement).
Export available in JPEG, TIFF, and PNG — with layers in Photoshop or flattened for other applications.
The license includes 1 active key and 2 backup keys. The keys are bound to the hardware of a computer/laptop, and the software may be used simultaneously on no more than 2 of the user’s personal devices.
If the hardware configuration of the primary device is changed, the key becomes invalid and you may use a backup key. If all keys have been used, an additional key may be provided upon contacting technical support, but not earlier than 6 months after purchase.

1. Authorization
After launching Retouch4me Apex, sign in to your Retouch4me account. Authorization is required to access cloud processing, your credit balance, and the tools included in your subscription. Use the same account that has an active subscription or purchased credits.
2. Buying credits
Apex uses a credit system for cloud retouching. If your balance does not have enough credits, top it up in your Retouch4me account or through the purchase link available in the application. After purchase, credits become available in Apex under your account.
3. How credits are used
One image processing in Apex uses 1 credit. This credit prepares retouching results for all available Apex tools in one run, including Heal, Dodge & Burn, Portrait Volumes, Skin Tone, Mattifier, Eyes Bundle, White Teeth, Fabric, Clean Backdrop, Dust, Stray Hairs, Glasses Glare Removal, Face Make Lifting, and other available modules. After processing, you can choose which tools to enable and adjust their strength while seeing the result in real time. You do not pay a separate credit for each tool: one credit is charged for processing one photo.
4. Photoshop workflow and layers
Apex is available as a standalone application and as a plugin for Photoshop. When launched from Photoshop, the result can be returned to the document with layers, allowing you to adjust the strength of individual effects, disable unnecessary layers, and continue manual editing. For other editors or formats, the result can be saved as a flattened image.
If you use Photoshop Actions and want Apex to create layers during automated processing, record the Retouch4me Apex Automation plugin in your action. You can find it in Photoshop here: File - Automate - Retouch4me Apex Automation. The automation plugin is designed for correct action workflow and layered output. If you record the regular Apex launch, layers may not be created as expected during batch processing.
5. Main retouching and Inpaint
First, run the main retouching in Apex. After that, use Inpaint to remove small distractions that require manually selected areas: small objects, spots, unwanted background elements, minor clothing defects, or surrounding distractions. This order is convenient because Apex first creates a clean base retouch, and then Inpaint helps remove the remaining details precisely.
