Retouch4me Apex 1.210 is now available. This update introduces the new Dust tool for automatic dust and spot removal, adds HEIC and HEIF support on macOS, improves file upload performance, and brings new editing controls to Stray Hairs.
Dust Tool for Automatic Dust and Spot Removal
One of the key additions in Apex 1.210 is the new Dust tool.
Dust automatically detects and removes dust particles, small spots, and other minor imperfections that can distract from the final image and require time-consuming manual cleanup.
The tool is especially useful for scanned images, archival photos, product photography, and any workflow where small unwanted artifacts need to be removed quickly and consistently.
Like other Retouch4me tools, Dust helps photographers and retouchers reduce editing time while maintaining a clean, professional result.
HEIC and HEIF Support on macOS
Apex now supports opening HEIC and HEIF files on macOS.
This makes it easier to work with images captured on iPhone and other Apple devices, allowing photographers to bring files directly into their retouching workflow without converting them first.
At the moment, HEIC and HEIF support is available for file import. Exporting in these formats is not yet supported.
Faster Uploads for Large Files
A new parallel upload option has been added to Apex and is enabled by default.
When working with large images or high-volume photo sets, Apex can now upload files more efficiently, reducing waiting times and helping you start processing sooner.
The improvement is particularly noticeable when handling large RAW files and extensive photo sessions.
More Control in Stray Hairs
Stray Hairs now includes Brush and Eraser tools for manual result refinement.
After automatic processing, you can quickly restore areas that should remain untouched or further refine the mask where additional cleanup is needed.
These new controls provide greater flexibility and help achieve the desired result on complex images without leaving Apex.
Infrastructure and Stability Improvements
This update also expands Retouch4me’s cloud infrastructure with a new processing region for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, helping provide a more stable experience for users in those areas.
In addition, Apex 1.210 includes various bug fixes and internal improvements designed to enhance overall stability and reliability.
