Manage your projects

What you will do

Use the Arams home screen to find a project, give it a useful name, locate its project storage, and reopen it without changing your original photos.

Before you start

Section titled “Before you start”

Sign in to Arams and have a project containing imported photos. The steps for opening the project folder use Windows File Explorer and a project whose Location is Default.

Open and identify a project

  1. If a project is open, click the left-pointing arrow beside its name to return to the home screen.
  2. Find the project card by its name and photo count. A card can show No cover, so do not rely on its preview alone.
  3. Double-click the card, away from the trash icon in its lower-right corner.
  4. Wait for the project name and photo grid to appear.

Rename the project

Section titled “Rename the project”
  1. Return to the home screen.
  2. Right-click the project card and select Rename.
  3. In Rename project, enter a distinctive name that will help you recognize the shoot later.
  4. Select Accept.
  5. Find the project under its new name on the home screen.

When Location is Default, renaming the project also renames its project storage folder. It does not rename or modify the original photos in their source folder.

Locate the project storage folder

Section titled “Locate the project storage folder”
  1. On the home screen, right-click the renamed project card.
  2. Select Open in explorer.
  3. In Windows File Explorer, note the project folder name and location. A project with the default location is stored below Pictures\Retouch4me Arams\Projects.

This is Arams project storage, not the folder containing your original photos. It contains Arams’s hidden .retouch4me data and its catalog. Do not move, rename, or delete files inside .retouch4me.

Reopen the renamed project

  1. Return to Arams.
  2. Double-click the project card with its new name.
  3. Wait until the project name and photo grid are visible.
  4. Check that your imported photos are present.

If it does not work

If you cannot find the project card, make sure you are on the home screen and compare project names and photo counts before opening another card.

If the old name remains after you select Accept, reopen Rename project, check the new name, and try again.

If the renamed project opens without the photos you expect, confirm that you opened the intended card. Do not import the photos again merely to make the displayed count match, and do not alter the files inside .retouch4me.
