What you will do

Find a project on the Arams home screen, give it a clearer name, locate its project storage, and reopen it with its photographs intact.

Before you start

Sign in to Arams and have a project containing imported photos. This walkthrough uses Project management practice, with the full-resolution JPEG files maxine-01.jpg and maxine-02.jpg already imported.

The steps were verified on Windows in Arams 1.10.2, with the interface set to English and the project’s Location left at Default. The original photos remained in their source folder throughout the test.

Open and identify a project

1. If a project is open, click the left-pointing arrow beside its name to return to the home screen.
2. Find the project card by its name and photo count. The example card reads Project management practice and 2 photos. A card can show No cover, so do not rely on the preview alone.
3. Double-click the card, away from the trash icon in its lower-right corner.
4. Wait for the project name, photo count, filenames, and thumbnails to appear before continuing.

Rename a practice project

1. Return to the home screen.
2. Right-click the project card and select Rename.
3. In Rename project, replace the current name with a unique name. This example uses Renamed portrait practice.
4. Select Accept.
5. Confirm that the card now shows the new name and the same photo count.

The verified rename also changed the name of the project’s default storage folder. It did not change either original JPEG: the SHA-256 hash of each source file was identical before and after the rename.

Locate the project storage folder

1. On the home screen, right-click the renamed project card.
2. Select Open in explorer.
3. In Windows File Explorer, note the project folder name. With the default location, the verified project was stored below Pictures\Retouch4me Arams\Projects.

This is Arams project storage, not the folder containing your original photos. In the verified run, the project folder contained Arams’s hidden .retouch4me data and its catalog, while maxine-01.jpg and maxine-02.jpg remained outside the project folder with unchanged hashes. Do not move, rename, or delete files inside .retouch4me as part of this procedure.

Reopen the renamed project

1. Return to Arams.
2. Double-click the Renamed portrait practice card.
3. Wait until the project name and photo grid are visible.
4. Check that both imported filenames and thumbnails are present.
5. Return to the home screen and confirm that the renamed card still reads 2 photos.

After reopening, the renamed card remains on the home screen with the same two-photo count. Arams 1.10.2 · Windows · English

Check the result

The home screen shows Renamed portrait practice with 2 photos. Reopening it shows maxine-01.jpg and maxine-02.jpg without another import. The project storage uses the renamed project folder, and the original JPEG files remain unchanged outside that folder.

If it does not work

If the project card is missing, return to the home screen and check the name and photo count before opening another card. Recovery of a missing or moved project has not been verified.

If the old name remains after you select Accept, the rename is not confirmed. Reopen Rename project and check the entered name before trying again.

If the renamed project opens without both photographs, do not import them again merely to make the count match. Confirm that you opened the intended card. Restoring missing project data and repairing the Arams catalog have not been verified.

Project deletion and moving a project to another storage location are outside this walkthrough and have not been verified here.
